Experiences Shared by Our Clients
Richard S.
Hua Hin resident · Retired
I brought in a Longines from 1968 that had been sitting in a drawer for a decade. Thanakorn examined it thoroughly and gave me a written report before asking if I wanted to proceed. No sales pressure whatsoever — he even suggested the full overhaul might not be necessary given the movement's condition. That kind of honesty is rare.

Nattapong P.
Bangkok collector, visits regularly
I have a collection of about twelve pieces and I bring whichever needs attention whenever I visit Hua Hin. The documentation they produce is useful — I keep it with each watch's papers. The timing data they include after servicing is more detailed than anything I received from shops in Bangkok.

My Omega Seamaster needed a new mainspring and seal work after years in a humid climate. Thong Atelier handled it carefully and was clear about costs upfront. The watch runs steadily now. My one observation is that turnaround took slightly longer than estimated — about four weeks instead of three — but they called to let me know in advance, which I appreciated.

I brought my grandmother's Seiko from the 1970s — sentimental value more than monetary, but still important to me. Nattawan at the atelier understood that immediately. She found the right crystal replacement and did not touch the original dial. I was happy with how they spoke about the piece as something worth preserving rather than just a repair job.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre I brought in has some unusual movement architecture — the local shops in Hua Hin declined to touch it. Thanakorn was familiar with the calibre and serviced it without incident. Communication in English throughout, clear pricing, and a detailed report. I shall return with my other pieces next season.

Engineer, Hua Hin
I had three watches serviced over about eighteen months — an Omega, a Rolex, and a Grand Seiko. Each one came back with a written report and the timing data. I am an engineer by profession and I appreciated the precision of their documentation. Prices are reasonable for the level of work and the service record quality.

The Situation
A Rolex Datejust Running Ten Minutes Slow
The watch had not been serviced in eleven years. The owner had noticed it losing time gradually over the previous six months and was concerned about the condition of the movement and waterproofing.
What We Did
Movement inspection showed worn lubricants and a slightly loose balance spring. We carried out a Movement Repair service — cleaning, new lubricants, balance regulation, and crown seal replacement. Timing came within +3 seconds per day across five positions.
Outcome
The watch was returned in three and a half weeks with a full service record and water resistance test certificate. The owner confirmed four months later that it was still performing within a few seconds per day.

The Situation
An Inherited Omega Constellation, Stopped
A woman brought in her father's 1961 Omega Constellation, received as part of a small inheritance. The watch had not run in many years. She wished it to run again but was anxious about over-restoring a sentimental piece.
What We Did
Assessment found a broken mainspring and a damaged click spring. After discussion, the owner agreed to full restoration with explicit instruction to preserve the dial and case finish as found. Correct parts were sourced over five weeks; no cosmetic changes were made.
Outcome
The Constellation now runs and keeps good time. The original patina of the case and dial was untouched. The owner received a full provenance document describing the watch's condition on arrival and all work carried out.

The Situation
A Newly Purchased Pre-Owned Watch, Uncertain History
A collector purchased a pre-owned Vacheron Constantin from a private seller and wanted an independent assessment of its condition and accuracy before deciding whether to service it.
What We Did
We carried out a thorough assessment and found the movement in reasonable condition — within expected parameters for a watch of its age. Our report detailed the rate, the condition of gaskets and crown, and observations on the dial and movement.
Outcome
The collector decided no further work was needed at that time — and we agreed. The written assessment report became part of his documentation for the piece. He returned six months later for a second watch.
